Riding Safety Training

Real safety does not come from riding carefully alone, but from applied riding physics and precise machine control – on a closed site, on your own motorcycle.

What is the riding safety training?

The universal foundation module, on a large closed practice site – where real hazardous situations can be recreated without danger. Unlike mass events, we work in small groups with individual coaching: feedback made for you instead of off-the-shelf exercises.

You ride your own motorcycle – the training builds on the machine you know and take out on the road.

Who is this training for?

This training makes sense for every motorcyclist – from the newcomer to the experienced high-mileage rider. Prior experience is not a requirement.

Beginners & riders moving up

You want to firm up the basics of machine control: clutch, brake, balance, steering input.

Returning riders

You are riding again after a break and want to get back the feel for clutch, brake and balance.

High-mileage riders

You want to check and sharpen your automatic responses in emergency maneuvers – braking, swerving.

The four technical focus areas

We work through a structured circuit of exercises that build on one another:

  1. Low-speed control: balance & stability

We start at walking pace. Tight slalom courses and stop-and-go exercises train the interplay of clutch, throttle and rear brake – maximum stability at minimum speed, the basis for safe riding in town and for turning around.

  2. Understanding emergency braking

You work your way towards maximum deceleration, from different speeds (30, 50, 70 km/h). The goal: a stable stop without locking and without fear of going over the front – including the right body support against the braking forces.

  3. Active countersteering: precise changes of direction

Cornering begins at the handlebars. In dynamic slalom sections (30–50 km/h) you train the deliberate steering input – steering the motorcycle actively through the bars instead of only by shifting your weight. That creates agility for quick lane changes and precise cornering.

  4. Swerving without panic: vision & steering input

An obstacle appears suddenly and braking is no longer enough. You train lightning-fast swerving, with and without braking first – separating the braking maneuver from the steering maneuver. You learn to take your eyes off the obstacle and to guide the motorcycle safely past it with one decisive input.

What you take away from the training

After this day you have widened your repertoire of options:

  • Safe handling at walking pace – no more wobbling
  • Confidence in full braking, a shorter stopping distance
  • Active steering instead of passively going along
  • Mental calm and an overview in traffic

Riding safety training: low-speed riding between cones on the practice site – balance, clutch and vision at walking pace. A rider in the cone course during riding safety training – controlled run through the practice lane. A rider trains active countersteering during riding safety training on the closed practice site.

Next steps

Do you have the basic maneuvers under control and want to work on your cornering technique on purpose? Then our Cornering Training Level 1 is the ideal next step.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior experience or a particular level?

No. The riding safety training is our universal foundation module – open to every motorcyclist, from the newcomer to the high-mileage rider.

Do I need my own motorcycle?

Yes. Unlike the cornering training (where we provide training motorcycles), here you ride your own bike – the training builds on the machine you ride every day.

What is the difference to the cornering training?

The riding safety training trains universal machine control: low-speed riding, braking, evasive maneuvers. The cornering training (Level 1–3) builds cornering technique on top of that. If you want to strengthen both areas, you usually start here and go on to Level 1 afterwards.

What equipment do I need?

Full protective gear is mandatory: motorcycle clothing, back protector, gloves, high boots and a full-face or flip-up helmet.

Where does the training take place?

On our closed practice site in 87766 Memmingerberg in the Allgäu (Bavaria), right at the A7/A96 motorway junction – about an hour from Munich, around an hour and a half from Stuttgart.

What comes after this?

If you have the basic maneuvers under control and want to work on your cornering technique on purpose, you move on to Cornering Training Level 1.
